It can be difficult to comfort and support a friend battling cancer. This Bee-utiful blanket was designed to inspire them to keep fighting and to keep them warm during treatment.
I once had a beautiful friend named Erin Remme. Erin and her husband, Josh, were raising their 3 beautiful children just a few miles from my home. She was a bright shining light and one of the most magnetic people I had ever encountered. She also had Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I was always inspired by her strength, so much so that I actually included her in the illustrations of my very first children's book, Your Angel Army: A Book of Hope. In 2019, we auctioned off that original painting at the Minneapolis Metsquerade for around $4000! The money raised went directly to stage 4 breast cancer research. It was one of the most powerful moments I have experiences as an artist.
In 2020, Erin gained her angel wings and left behind an army of people who continue to love and support her. This fall, I will once again be attending the Minneapolis Metsquerade in her honor and will be selling my books and artwork at the event to raise money for stage 4 research. We are hoping to reach the $1 million goal that Erin always dreamed of!
